Myceliumatters is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Texas Mushroom Conference, scheduled for May 26, 2024, at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, University of Texas, Austin. This mushroom-centered event promises a day packed with expert talks, interactive workshops, and community engagement activities all about the fascinating world of fungi.

This year’s conference will highlight the diverse applications and studies of mushrooms, featuring speakers such as Dr. Greg Fonzo, who will present his latest research on psilocybin’s impact on the brain, and Angel Schatz from the Central Texas Mycological Society, who will offer her expertise on foraging techniques. Jacob Devecchio, owner of Oklahoma Fungi, will lead a Grow Bio workshop on the wonders of mycelium-based materials. Plus, the Psychedelic Society of Texas will attend for discussions about the therapeutic uses of mushrooms.

Event attendees will also have the unique opportunity to participate in workshops led by leading mycologists and practitioners. These sessions will cover a variety of topics, including mushroom cultivation, mycoremediation, and the use of fungi in sustainable living practices. The event will also showcase local vendors, live music, and hands-on activities, making it a perfect day out for families and individuals interested in the science and beauty of mycology.

General admission tickets are priced at $35, with a VIP ticket option available for $100, providing a custom event tote bag with sponsor products and exclusive access to a VIP lounge with complimentary mushroom-based food and drinks. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to support ongoing research at the Center for Psychedelic Research & Therapy.

Everyone interested in the science, culture, and culinary aspects of mushrooms is invited to attend this unique event. Whether you are an experienced mycophile or a newcomer to the world of mushrooms, this conference is a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge, connect with like-minded enthusiasts, and support ongoing research in the field.
